Parking for Sign In / Drop Off
Camp Address:  First United Methodist Church:  1008 11th St Santa Monica, CA 90403.  There is a grassy area, head to the left up the ramp to the third floor.

Walk straight and to your right is room 300, which is our primary camp location and has an attached kitchen.  Also, we will use a super fun "Game Room" that's one room away for break time, which has art supplies, pool table, couches and a foozball table.

Parking:  There is street parking on 11th St and directly across from the church is available underground parking.

Lunch Time (for Cooking and Lego Robotics):  Since we run a small camp with anywhere from 5-15 campers each day in Cooking and Lego Robotics groups, campers are welcome to experience the other group's activities during the camp day.  The cool part about having a cooking camp is that they will be making snacks, lunch and desserts to be enjoyed with BOTH camps.  Basically, Lego Robotics kids can enjoy a homemade lunch each day!  You can bring extra food if your child is not interested in that day's menu, which we will post each day of camp.

Also, both camps will interact during breaks, lunch, art projects and outdoor / P.E. activities so that it feels like one united camp.

FAQ:

Is there a dress code?
Kids can wear casual, comfy clothes, but must wear close-toed shoes.  No sandals or flip flops.

Should I pack any food for my camper?
We provide a morning snack, lunch and dessert, so it’s not required to bring extra food.  We would only recommend bringing food if your child is allergic or does not like a particular dish on our menu.

Farmer's Market Field Trip Info:
On the Wednesday trip to the farmer's market, campers will be given water and sunscreen before heading out around 9:30am.  Please make sure your child has a hat, closed-toed shoes and a backpack if they plan to bring food home.  Kids often would like $10-$20 in cash to buy foods for their family.  Our group will consist of 3 counselors, with a counselor-to-kid ratio of 1:4.  We will stick together at all times and kids will be briefed on the "market field trip rules."

We will walk from the church to the market, which takes about 25 minutes.  At the market we'll visit vendors, purchase produce and enjoy a snack, which takes about 45-60 minutes.  Then we will take a bus, the Santa Monica blue bus number 2, from the market to 11th st.  This bus ride is fun and provides a much needed break from all the walking.

After that, we'll make a quick lunch and enjoy the rest of our day.  We have done this trip MANY times and have never had anything go wrong.  Kids love the trip and parents who have signed up for Cooking & Lego Robotics really enjoy that their children get to be exposed to the joy of visiting a farmer's market.
