Cooking Italiano for Kids takes kids on a culinary adventure to Italy.  Cooking has been shown to be a fun way to learn about science, nutrition and math, but also culture and history.  This program focuses on Italian foods and then provides a holistic understanding of Italian culture that’s so engaging, kids will shout “Mangi bene!” (“Eat well!”) before offering their parents a sample of their handmade tiramisu.

While cooking spaghetti with pesto, creamy risotto or fresh-grilled paninis, students will learn about each ingredient and where the dish came from in Italy.  A lesson on tomato-basil bruschetta begins with a tasty appetizer and soon leads to a trip to Florence filled with sites, sounds and art.

Chef Eric is a lively, experienced after-school teacher who lived in Italy, learned to cook there, and is passionate about Italian culture.  Under his guidance, students will build their culinary self-confidence as they work as a team to make dishes that are progressively more complex.   There is also a creative element, as students are offered a wide variety of Italian ingredients and then encouraged to create their own pizzas, paninis, salads and more.

At the end of the course, students will head home with a personalized cookbook featuring all of their recipes and pictures of them with their dishes.  So come for the food and stay so your child can learn to speak, live and eat ITALIAN!

NO kitchen is required as Cooking Italiano for Kids provides a mobile kitchen with all of the necessary cooking equipment.
